Sheet or rod?

Choose acetal sheet for flat blanks and plate-shaped parts. Choose white rod or black rod for round components, allowing for the finished diameter and machining allowance.

For rectangular sections, check the listed acetal bar size against the finished part and machining allowance.

Is POM-C the same as Delrin?

POM-C is acetal copolymer. Delrin is a brand of acetal homopolymer (POM-H). If a drawing specifies Delrin or a particular grade, retain that designation in the enquiry so the supplied material can be matched to it.

Specify the service conditions

For a bearing or wear part, include load, speed, temperature and the mating material. Compare UHMW for wear stock and nylon for an alternative engineering material. For food-contact components, identify the required compliance standard and grade.

Sheet sold by SFT is priced by square foot; rods listed as LFT are priced by linear foot. Send the finished dimensions, piece count and any critical tolerances for a machining-stock quotation.
