Tech Specs
Rice drinking straws are a recent and truly innovative solution to the challenge of replacing single-use plastic drinking straws. They are made from edible ingredients and tick all the sustainability boxes. After use, they rapidly biodegrade into their food component parts (rice flour and tapioca starch).
They can be put into municipal composting programs or composted at home, heck they could even be eaten! One creative company is collecting them and using them as fish food!
The straws are made in a clean, FDA registered facility and heat sterilized before being individually wrapped in paper. They outperform paper and biodegradable plastic straws not only in their green credentials but also because they can be used for hot food (unlike biodegradable plastic) and will not degrade during use (unlike paper).
