Custom 3D Printing for Plastic Parts

Request a filament-printed prototype, replacement part or small run from your 3D model. Start with PLA or PETG and describe the part’s use so our team can review the material, print approach and quote.

A group of filament 3D printers

From model to reviewed print

Filament printing can support prototypes, fit checks, display parts and selected practical components. Provide an STL or OBJ model when available, plus a dimensioned reference drawing for critical fit requirements. Include the units so the model can be checked at the intended scale.

The team reviews geometry, orientation, supports, material and finishing needs before quoting. A printed part has process-dependent surface and strength characteristics; it is not automatically equivalent to a machined or moulded part.

Material and application review

PLA and PETG are the materials described for this service. Other filaments require a capability and application review and are not a confirmed default offering. Tell us about temperature, UV or weather exposure, loading, mating parts and appearance requirements.

Do not assume a general printed material is suitable for safety-critical, regulated or food-contact use. Any required specification or compliance evidence must be reviewed for the exact material and finished application.

What to include with the model

  • STL or OBJ model, a file download link, and the overall size and units.
  • Quantity, colour preference and whether the part is a prototype or intended for use.
  • Critical dimensions, tolerances, holes, mating surfaces and how the part will be loaded.
  • Any heat, chemical or outdoor exposure, finishing requirements and desired date.

If you have a broken part or sketch rather than a model, describe it and send photos. We will review what drawing or modelling work is needed before production.

Printing service or printing supplies?

This page is for requesting a custom part. To print your own designs, browse 3D printers and filament, or visit the 3D printing learning centre. For a flat plastic part, compare CNC router cutting.

The quote confirms the available service location, material, dimensions, tolerances, finishing and timing. Include your city and postal code for the location review.

Questions before you request a quote

Which model files should I send?

STL or OBJ is a useful starting point. Include the overall dimensions and units, plus a drawing for critical fit requirements. Use the file-link field or email the model.

Can you print nylon, polycarbonate or ASA?

These are not confirmed default materials for this service. Describe the application and material requirement so capability and suitability can be reviewed before any commitment.

Can you copy a broken part?

Send photos, measurements and the intended use. The team will assess whether modelling and printing are practical and what additional information is needed.

What happens next

  1. Share your project

Send dimensions, material, quantity and a drawing or photos when available.

  2. Review the scope

We assess the process, service location and any information needed to quote.

  3. Confirm the quote

Price, tolerances, timing and pickup or delivery are confirmed for the agreed work.

Tell us about your project

Required fields are marked *. We review the location, material and scope before confirming a quote.

Submitting a request does not confirm an order, material suitability, a production slot or a completion date.
