Free Form™ Habitat™ Black Epoxy Putty is a mix-by-hand putty used to create textured or highly detailed display pieces. Habitat™ Black is solvent-free and contains no VOCs. Working time is 60 minutes, with a 16-hour cure time at room temperature (73°F / 23°C). Once cured, it forms a very hard, heat-resistant material that is easy to paint.
Use with Habitat™ Black Folding Powder to thicken the epoxy and reduce sag when applying to vertical surfaces. Folding Powder™ also reduces stickiness and makes the epoxy easier to handle.
Features
Habitat™ Black is suitable for both interior and exterior use. It is certified aquarium safe and is commonly used by aquariums to create realistic coral and other themed display environments. It is also widely used for sculpting and general theming applications.
After application, the putty can be stamped with silicone rubber stamps to create repeating patterns with fine detail. Surfaces can be smoothed using water or alcohol. Newly applied Habitat™ Black bonds to cured material without delamination and will not melt foam, making it suitable as an EPS foam coating.
